B&B The Best is a new series appearing on BBC2 on Tuesday afternoons.
Can this programme benfit prospective B&B owners by giving some key indicators as to the challenges and rewards of running a B&B or guesthouse?

Todays Bed and Breakfast couple started with a very run down pub which
the BBC's accomodation experts - B&B The Best team - and viewers saw
was not fit enough to stay overnight in. The bathroom was particularly dingy!
The couple lacked B&B experience and had little local knowledge, so they were given a few tips on the local surroundings and were informed that guests would expect them to be better informed.
With a small budget the couple set about improving the facilities with a spot of painting, new flooring, curtains and even a new bed!
Then the B&B inspector called 'incognito' and stayed overnight. He gave them a 3 star award and the couple were delighted.

Now the couple have to market their 3 Star B&B - though much cleaner, having been spruced up, It was clear the couple with a large task on their hands.
I wonder if the BBC will revisit in a few months?
Overall, the programme is a bit lightweight for prospective B&B owners - it's more of a 'changing rooms' than a business boost.
